Dr Joel Lazarus

Joel is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Bath. He is involved in all areas of qualitative research development within WorkFREE, in supporting our doctoral students, and in the daily management of the project. His research is supported both by the European Research Council and the British Academy. It involves an exploration of the philosophy of needs in the context of transformation. He is particularly interested in the need of transcendence; in creating, through deep relational practices, the conditions that enable us to transcend our egoic selves and listen to the needs of the system we are inhabiting, and to act personally and collectively from that place. The community work we seek to undertake in WorkFREE will both be informed by and will inform this emerging theoretical framework.
